Flint teaches tap and jazz at schools in London Tap dancer Matt Flint has been crowned the winner of this year's So You Think You Can Dance talent show on BBC One.The 29-year-old from Scarborough battled it out against fellow finalists Katie Love and jazz dancers Luke Jackson and Kirsty Swain, before being voted the viewers' favourite.
He won the ?50,000 top prize and an invitation to appear on the US version of the show.
Flint told host Cat Deeley it was "the best thing I've ever done in my life".
The dancer, who has appeared in London's West End - including performing with the late Patrick Swayze in Guys and Dolls - has said he wants to make tap dancing more accessible.
Head judge Nigel Lythgoe said: "It's going to be a delight for me to take Matt to Hollywood and see him dancing there."
Both the female finalists, Swain and Love, were voted out early by the public, leaving an all-male dance-off between Flint and Leicester-born Jackson - who recently danced in the West End hit Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
The series final was split into two shows, with 2.2m tuning into the first part, according to overnight figures.
So You Think You Can Dance has seen a fall in its audience figures since a high of more than 5m in March.
